The restoration of the shelter of the archaeological site of Akrotiri in Santorini is rapidly progressing.

The architect for the project and consultant of the Archaeological Society Mr Nikos Fintikakis said to the newsletter "Paratiritirio" that 70% recovery of the shelter has already been achieved, including the section that had been damaged. He also said that according to the time schedule of the contractorsʼ consortium, full restoration of the shelter is expected by December 31, 2010 and completion of the project in its entirety is expected in May 2011.
